Meet dermatologist Uffe Nygaard

 

Meet our new dermatologist in Aarhus and Viborg, dermatologist, PhD Uffe Nygaard.

Uffe comes from a position at Aarhus and Odense University Hospitals and has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating all types of skin conditions in both children and adults.

Why did you choose to work for Capio?

There are several reasons why I am grateful to have become part of Capio. The sky-high ambitions for professionalism, orderliness and optimal patient care are the primary reasons. At the same time, the moral compass is in order, and Capio never takes focus away from the most important thing - the patient.

What do you value most about your work at Capio?

I most appreciate having the time, facilities and collegial/organizational support to be the best dermatologist I can be for patients every day. It's hugely satisfying to be able to take the time to hear the whole patient story and examine the skin meticulously. In addition, to be able to offer the relevant diagnostics and treatment in the same consultation. I feel that all of this together gives patients the experience of a good and safe consultation and an efficient course of treatment.

What are your special areas of interest/competencies that you want to bring into play in your work at Capio?

I'm good at talking to people and making sure they feel understood and comfortable. I want to continue to focus on that. I'm also very good at complex diseases, their diagnosis and treatment. I hope that these two skills together contribute to ensuring that patients who have encountered waiting time, resistance or doubt in their disease process also get the clarification and help they are looking for.

 

In addition to broad clinical experience, Uffe has a strong academic background and has spent ten years researching skin diseases and their treatment. His PhD research included eczema disease - in layman's terms - particularly the explanatory causes of the condition and its treatment.
