Among other things, the examination can show whether you have heart rhythm disturbances, signs of reduced oxygen supply to the heart, signs of heart muscle disease or signs of a previous blood clot.

Echocardiography (ultrasound examination of the heart)
An echocardiogram is an ultrasound examination of the heart. The sound waves allow the cardiologist to see if the heart valves and chambers are functioning properly. With an echocardiogram, we can, among other things, check whether the heart and its chambers are of normal size. We can also check for signs of holes in the heart, signs of heart muscle disease (cardiomyopathy) and inflammation of the heart valves (endocarditis).
A regular echocardiogram is a painless and completely safe examination.
