What are marisks?
Perianal skin tags are small folds of skin around the anus. They are folds of skin around the anus that often develop after hemorrhoids or previous inflammation in the area. Perianal skin tags are a benign condition and do not develop into cancer, but they can cause discomfort in daily life.
Some people have trouble keeping the area clean after using the restroom, while others are bothered by irritation, itching, or discomfort during physical activity. In some cases, the skin tags can also be cosmetically bothersome.
If hemorrhoids cause persistent symptoms or affect your quality of life, they can be removed through a minor surgical procedure. The purpose of the procedure is to relieve discomfort and make it easier to maintain good hygiene around the rectum.
When is surgery recommended?
Surgery may be appropriate if the varicose veins cause symptoms such as:
- difficulty maintaining hygiene after a bowel movement
- irritation or itching around the anus
- recurrent inflammation or tenderness
- discomfort during physical activity or when sitting for long periods of time
- cosmetic issues that affect your daily life.
The surgeon will work with you to determine whether surgery is the most appropriate treatment based on your symptoms and discomfort.
