Hip osteoarthritis develops slowly. When you are referred to us for osteoarthritis, also known as degenerative joint disease, we will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your condition.
This involves examining your hip, reviewing X-rays, and discussing your pain level, activity needs, and overall health.
In some cases, there are many things you can do to relieve or even completely treat the pain without needing surgery. These include, for example, exercise, weight loss, pain management, and possibly adjusting your activities.
In other cases, this has already been tried without success.
When you are referred to us for hip osteoarthritis, we will work with you to find the right treatment that is best for you in your situation.
