The Health Check Plus takes about 40 minutes and combines a series of key health measurements with a personal consultation and a concrete action plan. It is a check-up that not only looks at numbers, but also at you as a person – your habits, your everyday life, and your goals.
Before the check-up, you fill out an online questionnaire that gives us an insight into your diet, smoking, alcohol, exercise and sleep habits. This forms the basis for the conversation and helps us understand where you stand - and where you might want to change.
During the health check itself, we measure:
- Body composition - we measure body fat percentage, muscle mass, weight, and fat around the internal organs to give you a nuanced picture of your physical shape.
- Waist circumference - a simple but important measure for lifestyle diseases.
- Cholesterol and blood sugar – measured with a quick blood test from your finger. We look at total cholesterol, 'good' (HDL) and 'bad' (LDL) cholesterol, as well as long-term blood sugar (Hb1Ac).
- Blood pressure - high blood pressure is rarely felt but is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease.
- Cardiovascular fitness - estimated through a Seismofit measurement taken lying down and without physical strain. It gives an indication of your overall fitness and heart function.
Once all measurements have been taken, the program concludes with a lifestyle conversation where we go through your results together and talk about your wishes and options. You will receive an action plan that you can take with you and use as a starting point to make changes that last - without any finger-pointing.
All your results, answers and personal plan can then be accessed online.
