Get insight into your health with a thorough health check

At Capio, we offer a health check that gives you more than just a quick overview. Health Check Plus is a thorough review of your health, combining measurements of your physical health with a personalized conversation and an action plan based on your everyday life and goals.

You will have your cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, body composition and fitness level measured. We start with an online questionnaire that focuses on your habits - and end with a lifestyle conversation where we together create a realistic plan for healthier habits and better well-being.

The earlier you gain insight into how your body is feeling, the greater the opportunity to prevent illness and maintain good health - both physically and mentally.

Health Check Plus

The Health Check Plus takes about 40 minutes and combines a series of key health measurements with a personal consultation and a concrete action plan. It is a check-up that not only looks at numbers, but also at you as a person – your habits, your everyday life, and your goals.

Before the check-up, you fill out an online questionnaire that gives us an insight into your diet, smoking, alcohol, exercise and sleep habits. This forms the basis for the conversation and helps us understand where you stand - and where you might want to change.

During the health check itself, we measure:

  • Body composition - we measure body fat percentage, muscle mass, weight, and fat around the internal organs to give you a nuanced picture of your physical shape.
  • Waist circumference - a simple but important measure for lifestyle diseases.
  • Cholesterol and blood sugar – measured with a quick blood test from your finger. We look at total cholesterol, 'good' (HDL) and 'bad' (LDL) cholesterol, as well as long-term blood sugar (Hb1Ac).
  • Blood pressure - high blood pressure is rarely felt but is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease.
  • Cardiovascular fitness - estimated through a Seismofit measurement taken lying down and without physical strain. It gives an indication of your overall fitness and heart function.

Once all measurements have been taken, the program concludes with a lifestyle conversation where we go through your results together and talk about your wishes and options. You will receive an action plan that you can take with you and use as a starting point to make changes that last - without any finger-pointing.

All your results, answers and personal plan can then be accessed online.

Night check

If you work shifts or night shifts, you probably know how hard it can be on your body in the long run. Irregular working hours can affect your metabolism, sleep and mental energy.

That's why a health check can be especially relevant for you. At Capio, we have experience assessing the health of people with irregular circadian rhythms - and we offer measurements that can give you valuable insights into how your body reacts to your working life.

We help you take care of your health - even when working hours don't follow a typical 8-16 rhythm.

How a health check with us works

The course is simple and customized for you - from start to finish.

  1. Book an appointment: You choose the time that suits you best.
  2. Fill out questionnaire from home: Before your visit, you'll complete an online questionnaire about your habits - based on diet, exercise, sleep and other lifestyle factors.
  3. Come in for your health check: The check takes about 40 minutes and takes place in a relaxed setting with our healthcare staff.
  4. Get insights and overview: We'll review your results together and talk about what they mean for you and your health.
  5. Get a concrete action plan: You get a personalized and realistic plan that you can take with you - and all your results are collected and easily accessible online afterwards.

FAQ

What's the difference between a health check and a health examination?

A health check at Capio includes measurements of body composition, cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure and fitness level, as well as a lifestyle conversation and action plan. It focuses on a quick assessment of your health status and practical advice for improvement.

A medical examination is more comprehensive and includes a medical examination, lung function test, resting ECG, ultrasound scans and a detailed health report. The examination is designed to identify potential health issues and provide an in-depth analysis of your health condition.

If you are interested in a more in-depth examination, read more about our health examinations here.

Who is covered by night checks and why is it necessary?

A night check is a 45-minute health check that is mandatory for night workers according to the Working Environment Act. A night worker is defined in the Working Hours Act as an employee who normally performs at least 3 hours of their daily working hours during the night period, or an employee who performs night work for at least 300 hours within a 12-month period. This check is important to monitor the health of night workers, as night work can negatively affect both physical and mental health.

How often should I get a health check?

It is generally recommended to have a health check at least once a year, especially if you have a busy schedule, work night shifts or have health risks such as high blood pressure, diabetes or obesity. For night workers, a health check is required by law upon employment and at least every three years.

How is my health data handled after the health check?

We understand that protecting your personal health data is important. After your health check, all your measurements and questionnaire results are treated confidentially and stored securely. Your data is only accessible to you and the healthcare professionals performing the health check. The company will not have access to individual employee health data.

To help the company understand the overall health of its employees, we create an anonymized report that shows aggregated data without identifying individuals. This ensures that your personal health information remains private while the company can gain insights into overall health trends and needs.
