Press release: Capio CFR A/S acquires OPA (Ortopædisk Hospital Aarhus) from GHP and is now represented in 4 out of 5 regions in Denmark

As of June 30, 2017, Capio CFR A/S has acquired from GHP Denmark the private hospital OPA in Aarhus, which has had a solid location in the center of Aarhus and through its 11 years of existence has been known for high quality treatment of patients with orthopedic and spinal disorders, just as there has been an increasing activity within the area of plastic surgery. For many years, the hospital has worked closely with insurance companies, Central Denmark Region and North Denmark Region.

In recent years, the Danish private hospital industry has seen the benefits of creating larger units that are better positioned both professionally and financially. Capio CFR wants to offer nationwide patient treatment and ensure patients a good and safe course of treatment in a healthy company.

"For many years, OPA has been known for high professionalism and has offered treatment to both public and private patients via health insurance, to the great benefit of everyone who has wanted to use the private alternative. The market in Aarhus is too small for a highly specialized player, and it feels good that Capio CFR is taking over, after which OPA can be part of a multi-specialty company," says Claus Hovgaard, CEO of OPA and Gildhøj Privathospitaler.

High patient satisfaction and quality

Both Capio CFR and OPA have been ranked at the top of national patient satisfaction surveys over the years, and both parties are accredited without remarks according to the Danish quality model.

OPA will continue under the name Capio CFR - OPA. Capio CFR now consists of five departments in Hellerup, Lyngby, Odense and Skørping and now Aarhus.
