What happens in the body

When you experience an allergic reaction, the body's immune system suddenly recognizes commonly occurring substances, such as pollen or animal dander, as a potential danger that needs to be combated. Therefore, allergy antibodies are formed against these substances (allergens). The antibodies trigger an allergic reaction, which can cause the above symptoms when exposed to the allergens in question.

Because of these antibodies, allergies can be detected or ruled out by allergy tests in conjunction with the patient's medical history and can often be effectively treated after a careful examination. The right treatment depends on how severe the symptoms are, how much they affect daily life and how often they occur.
