Capio CFR Hellerup turns 15 years old!
On November 4, 2004, Capio CFR in Hellerup opened the doors to Denmark's first private hospital focusing exclusively on the assessment and treatment of patients with back and neck disorders. A lot has happened since then, and in just a few years, Capio has become one of Denmark's largest nationwide private hospitals. Now the hospital in Hellerup can celebrate its 15th anniversary.
It all started with a single hospital in Tuborg Harbour. Three renowned spine specialists from Rigshospitalet's spine unit established the hospital in 2004 under the name Center For Rygkirurgi. Since then, the hospital has changed its name to Capio and has grown to become Denmark's second largest nationwide private hospital with departments in Hellerup, Odense, Aarhus, Viborg and Aalborg and the country's largest center for advanced imaging diagnostics. In 2018, Capio also became part of one of Europe's leading healthcare providers, Ramsay Générale de Santé.
Starting out as a spine hospital, Capio has also expanded its services as it has grown and now covers more than 20 different specialties.
"We have a wide range of medical specialties, from orthopedic surgery to ear, nose and throat surgery, gynecology and plastic surgery. All our doctors are recognized specialists in their respective fields, and all examinations and treatments are performed with advanced technological equipment in modern surroundings," says CEO and specialist Thomas Kiær.
