Before the surgery, you will have a preliminary examination with your specialist. Here you will be informed about the surgery, late effects and possible complications. The specialist will also inform you about the expected cosmetic result. The scar is z-shaped and placed under the chin. During the preliminary examination, the doctor will show you 'before and after' images to give you a realistic impression of the expected cosmetic result.
You are welcome to bring a friend or family member to the preliminary examination. At least one week must pass from the preliminary examination to the surgery if the procedure is considered purely cosmetic.
